Tuesday Morning Sketches #14

Celebrate good times, c'mon! It's a celebration! Celebrate good times, c'mon! There's a party going on right here, a celebration to last throughout the year. So bring your good times and your laughter, too, we're gonna celebrate and party with you....!!

Gotcha singing? Good!! What's the celebration all about? Well, our very own designe team member, my sister, Theresa is celebrating a birthday. Actually two birthdays. Today is the day that our mother did bring her into this world and she's turning for... twenty-nine. But Theresa also turned 2 this year. She is a 2 year breast cancer survivor. It was two years ago that she called me - I was in the shoe store with Brendan, when she gave me the news of her diagnosis. I kept myself together while I was in the store and the moment we were in the car - I lost it! Poor Brendan. Well, even though I still can get teary about it I am celebrating that my sister is still here with us and she's cancer FREE!! So grab yourself some punch and raise your glass in honor of her.

This week's challenge is to create a card using this sketch and for a little added bonus, either make it a birthday card or make it a Breast Cancer Awareness card.

Now Theresa didn't have any idea about this party so she just designed her merry way and this is what she came up with. Fantastic card!!

I also want you go visit Theresa's blog, it's her birthday but you could actually get the present. She is giving away some very cool blog candy. Stop by, wish her a happy birthday and get your name in to win.

Yippeee - my sister Karin dropped in to party along with us. This card is soooo beautiful! It features the felting technique. There is a tutorial on SCS on how to do this.

Here's Joni's card and she created this image especially for this occasion. She said that it's a card at first glance for a child. But her message to Theresa is that she's been given a new lease on life and should live every moment as a child: full of discovery, wonderment and joy!

Look who else stopped by! It's our friend Gabby who we all know is the party girl! Her card is so fabulous!

Here's Tammy's card with an adorable Hope (or is she Grace?) wishing Theresa a happy birthday. This card is so sweet and so creative!!

Next up is Shelly Bobrowski, our October Guest Designer. Another gorgeous card that is so soft and so feminine. Just lovely! Edit: I completely forgot to share with you that Shelly is offering blog candy, too. She has an adorable set from Regina of Cutting Cafe. To win, you have to leave a comment here and visit Shelly's blog. Warning! She has got an excellent playlist on her blog - you'll stay there just to listen.

I am so happy that Sheri stuck around for one more week to party with us, too. Her card features a brand new Inktegrity stamp, too! The different shades of pink are so pretty.

Finally, this is my card. This is another image that Joni created for this occasion. Joni has a cancer survivor on her Inktegrity design team - so she created this for her, too. For all women! You can pick up this adorable image here for free!

Thanks for partying with us! I look forward to seeing what you make! Don't forget to link up in Mr. Linky and leave a comment. The party is continued over at my personal blog, I've featured some up & coming designers who created cards especially for their Sassy.
